Rio de Janeiro: Rio de Janeiro is located southeast of the country and is the most populated city of the whole Brazilian region. Rio de Janeiro is popular for its architecture and its large cultural offer: theatres, cinemas, museums, concert halls, art galleries, etc., not to forget its gastronomic variety of typical specialties of all regions and international gastronomy. And who has not heard about the famous sugar loaf and the carnival with its splendorous samba groups known all over the world.
Brasilia: Is since 1960 the capital of Brazil. The futuristic Brasilia was sketched on the drawing board and built in just only three years. Brasilia is located in the Federal District in the central area of Brazil and due to its extraordinary architecture it was declared in 1987 as Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO. The visitors will enjoy the architectural variety of the impressing buildings, departments and its subterranean cathedral as well as of its cultural offer.
The Amazon: The state of the Amazon located in the north of the country, is covered almost completely by the Amazon forest which is nowadays the densest ecological system, being one of the biggest biological reservations because of its diversity. Under the same name we will find the Amazon which presents a spectacular variety in colours joining the currents of the Rio Negro, without both currents getting mixed really. In the area of the Amazon live the major groups of natives of Brazil and every year folk parades with indigenous traditions are celebrated.
Due to the extension and density it is always recommended to be accompanied by a guide during the excursions.
Falls of Iguaçu: Formed by a group of 270 different falls are located in the national park with the same name, Park of Iguaçu. The name "Iguaçu" comes from the Guarani (language of indigenous groups in South America) and its official translation means "big waters". This park has been declared by the UNESCO as World Heritage Site. The park has an extension of 250 thousand hectares and borders on Argentina and Paraguay. In Brazil it is located in the region of Paraná , which is famous for its natural environment and cultural diversity.
In the north-east you will find beaches and coastal regions.
