Culture and traditions in Australia

The culture of Australia is influenced by many different cultures, mainly from England, Italy and Asia. According to its multicultural society the culture is also very different and diverse which can be appreciated in the different culture genres.

Mainly all cultural events can be found in the biggest cities, where the visitor can choose from a large offer of theaters, musicals, cinemas, music concerts. Classical music and opera are very popular in Australia, evidence is the Sidney Opera House. Also the Australian film industry has expanded during the last years finding international recognition.

An important element of the Australian culture are the popular cave drawings and music of the aborigines. The wooden instrument known as didgeridoo, which makes a droning sound is used today in many modern performances.
