In the gastronomy of Bolivia we find, as in all the aspects of this country, an amazing variety. The agricultural richness of the regions allows to enjoy a vast variety of flavours and ingredients.
In La Paz some typical dishes are: Majao or Majadito (a risotto style plate which includes duck or chicken meat.) and the Locro (a soup based on hen and rice containing potatoes).
Oruro is the ideal place to enjoy the local gastronomy. One of the most popular plates is the rostro asado (oven baked lamb head) and the mechado (lamb leg with vegetables). The gastronomy of this area is mainly based on meet.
In Potosà is popular for its pies and cereals and typical pottages. One of the typical plates of this region is the cazuela (a soup made with potatoes, meat, fish, rice or noodles).
The Bolivian gastronomy is a very traditional gastronomy and the visitor will find only few places specialized on international food.
