Culture and Tradition in Canada

Canada's culture has been influenced by the European cultures, mainly by the British and French culture. Also elements of Canada's aboriginal culture is an important part of its culture. The cultural diversity and the importance of equality makes Canada to be one of the most respectful and peaceful countries in the world.

It sceneries often have been used for shooting international movies, also due that costs are lower and film industry is getting more and more important and a fast growing industry, specially in cities as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. One of the leading film festivals is held each year in September in Toronto "Toronto International Film Festival".

The cultural diversity has influenced many music styles ranging from folk music, jazz, pop music up to rock. In Montreal is held one of the largest and most important Jazz Festivals worldwide, with about 500 concerts performed by more than 2000 musicians of different countries, The Montreal Jazz Festival.

Being the second largest country in the world and depending on the region, there are many interesting museums and art galleries with exhibitions of national and international works and history of the country and aborigines and their crafts.

The Vancouver Symphony of Fire is one of the most important fireworks competition in the world and it takes place every summer and goes over several nights.

A nationwide celebration is the national day celebrated on July 1st, day of Canadas official birth as a country.
