Culture and traditions of Chile are strongly influenced by traditions of Spanish colonists which have been mixed with the aboriginal culture and traditions. The traditional dance the Cueca, with Spanish and African influences although its origins are not clearly determined.
Influenced by the North American rock several Chilean rock and also jazz bands appeared on the national music scene. One of the most important music festivals of South America takes each year place in Chile "Viña del Mar International Song Festival".
Santiago is one of the centres of museums. Here the visitor will find the contemporary art museum, the National History Museum, leading the visitor from the discovery to the colonial time till the modern era. Worth to visit is also the National Museum of Fine Arts along with the National Museum of Natural History which is one of the oldest natural history museums in South America.
