Denmark is located in the North of Europe and is a Scandinavian country with borders to Germany. Part of Denmark are the Peninsula of Jutlandia, the Faroe Islands and the territory of Greenland.
Denmark is well-known for being one of the most pacific countries of the world, with minor corruption index, and its capital, Copenhagen, is considered to be one of the best cities of the world to live. Denmark has an extension of more than 43,000 km2 with a population of approximately 5 million inhabitants.
The Danish territory is divided in 5 different regions:
Denmark is flat and with little elevations and its scenery is characterized by its variety: Fiords, which are former valleys glaciers later occupied by the sea, besides numerous rural villages ideal for relaxing and practicing activities as fishing. The abundance of its natural environment, forests and lakes, makes Denmark a perfect place for travelers who want to escape from the noise of big cities and spend a time in pure nature enjoying calmness.
Although of its location the winters in Denmark are not particularly cold. The summers are cool in respect to other countries with an average temperature in August of 16 - 17 ºC.
Danes are descendants from ancient German tribes. Today most immigrants in Denmark are from other Nordic or Western countries although immigration flows are moderate.
