Activities in the Dominican Republic

There is an increasing development of initiatives in favour of an active and ecological tourism interested in environmental activities, such as:

Ornithological tourism: In National Park Jaragua, southwest of the island, offers visitors to observe the wide variety of birds with more than 150 different species.

Speleology: Offers of orginized excursions to visit the famous caves in the National Park The Haitises.

Hiking, biking and horse riding: There are several routes accross the country for practicing these activities. In national parks and places of interest it is only allowed with a special permit.

Water sport activities in seas and rivers: The Dominican Republic is an ideal place for practicing any water sport. Besides the favourites scuba diving and skin-diving visitors will find different alternatives to enjoy the water: windsurfing and boating.
