In Finland, the territory of thousand lakes, has 35 National parks. Some of the most spectacular sights are:

The National park of Urho Kekkonen: it is the largest of the country, placed in the region of Lapland. The main attractions for visitors is to observe reindeers, bears, woodpeckers, elks and peacocks. Another attraction are excursions with sledges pushed by huskies, to visit a farm of elks or the museum of the "Sami", indigenous people of Scandinavia and that live mainly of reindeers and preserve their own language together with Finish and Swedish. Hiking and trekking of different difficulty levels are also offered by the organisation of the Park.

National Park of Koli, placed in the East of the country, borders to the west on the lake Pielinen and to Lieksa's city on the East, is known by the musical pieces inspired by its landscapes, converting it in one of the most popular sights of interest of the Finish territory. Characteristics of this park is its vast vegetation and geological composition of quartz. It is an ideal place for excursions of one or even more days and enjoy a wide range of activities outdoors.

Nuuksio National Park, placed in the the Southern region of Finland, is the most wooded zone among the places of interest in Finland. It offers excellent hiking routes throughout the forests. A special attraction are the deep cliffs and mountains, as well as breathtakingly beautiful lakes.

Interesting cities:

The Finnish population is mainly concentrated in the south part of the country, in the surroundings of Helsinki, the current capital of the country and is the place of reference for the modern Finnish life and its opened and respectful culture, without loosing its own tradition and history. In cities as Helsinki, a worth visit while travelling through Finland, visitors can enjoy traditional dishes in restaurants and cafeterias with views to the sea, visit traditional buildings as museums of contemporary art, concerts of different musical styles... One of Finland's main attractions from Helsinki are the trips to cities of the islands conforming the Finish territory or also the cities of Taillin and Saint Petersburg that are very close.

Turku, a port city: Once the former capital of Finland, it is nowadays an important university and cultural center of the northern part of the country. One of its main attractions is the castle dated back to the 13th century, its botanical garden, the university building and museums.

The city of Tampere relies on a literary and theatrical important tradition within the cultural scene of the country. We can visit also the botanical garden of Tampere, close to the city and that surrounds a former mansion, with more than 500 different species of plants.
