Besides the thermal area, where visitors come to enjoy the health water and to relax, activities in the land of fire and glaciers are mainly related with excursions on marked paths throughout the country. One of the most popular excursions is to ones of Europes biggest waterfalls Gulfoss, split into two falls of about 50 meters. On sunny days visitors can observe an spectacular rainbow over them.
