In Oslo visitors can find a representative variety of Norway's cultural attractions, such as the National Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, which comprises the Viking Ship Museum and the Historical Museum, and the Natural History Museum and Botanical Gardens.

Norway is popular for its uncountable different kind of festivals that take place throughout the year, specially during the summer time and focused on different subjects going from literature, modern music up to theatre festivals.

Literature festivals: In Lillehammer takes place one of the most important literature festivals of Norway and in Bjornson every year is celebrated the The Bjornson Festival of International Literature founded by writings by the Norwegian author of the same name.

The Molde International Jazz Festivals is one of the oldest festivals in Europe of this genre and takes place every year during July in the city of Molde and is well visited by international musicians, who perform their music. Also different rock and folk music festivals take place throughout the year.

More than ten different theater festivals complete this large offer of cultural events. One of the most important theater festivals is the "Market for Performance Arts" in Sandefjord which offers during a week presentations of professional performance. The Great Norwegian Comedy Festival in Rogaland is also one of the highlights of the cultural events of Norway.
