Paraguay is one of the most beautiful places in our planet to experience nature. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit one of the largest, freshwater wetland system in the world the "Gran Pantanal" also known as the Pantanal. This wetland system is of high importance to keep biodiversity. It is located along the northern part of the river Paraguay and has an estimated extension of 140,000 to 210,000 km2. The Pantanal is home for many species, plant and animal life, and one of the best places in the world to observe jaguars. Visiting the area is going to be a good opportunity to have a walk through the city "Fuerte Olimpo"o also called the entrance to the Pantanal.
The Gran Chaco, considered as the second lung of South America with a sensible eco-system and unique geological and weather conditions. It covers 60 percent of the Paraguayan territory and is sparsely populated although small indigenous groups live here keeping their traditions. Its diverse environment from wide plains up to dry savannas shelters a high diversity of animal and plant species as the jaguar, puma and the Chacoan guanaco among others.
