In Sweden there are many national parks declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO with a spectacular scenery, a combination of forests, lakes and glaciers, surrounded by incredible mountain ranges.
In the northern part, in Lapland, "The Abisko National Park" is one of the highlights in Sweden. The park has an extension of 7,700 hectares and it is easily accessible, as many of the parks located throughout the country. A particularity is the deep canyon of Abiskojokka. The south and west part of the park present a scenery predominantly plain with valleys, surrounded by mountain ranges and in the northern area the lake Torneträsk.
Vadvetjakka National Park an area rich of lakes but difficult to access, is particular interesting because of its flora and amazing scenery. Here are located the largest cave formations of Sweden.
Without doubt nature is untouched in "The Sarek National Park", located in Lapland and also known in former times as the last European wildness. As many other parks this was declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. It is one of the most visited parks in Sweden. Spectacular sceneries, specially in the surroundings of the Laitaure Lake. The park has an extension of about 197,000 hectares and is difficult to access.
Besides the natural environment throughout Sweden, with its 23 National Parks and many natural reserves, it is recommended to visit the Capital, Stockholm, which is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with its old town Gamla Stan of special historical interest.
