Nepal is a landlocked country located in the south of Asia and borders in the north with China and in the south with India. The country has an extension of 147,181 km2 and a population of 30 million inhabitants, mainly living in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, the largest city of the country.
The country offers highly diverse and rich sceneries, a combination of mountains, hills and valleys. In the north predominantly mountainous, where the highest mountain Mountain Everest is located. Flat regions covered with forests are located in the south of the country, which is the most urbanized area.
Nepals climate is tropical and subtropical and there are four climatic seasons:
The most pleasant seasons are for most visitors spring and autumn, although May and June can be very hot until the monsoon brings relief with rainfalls, from the end of June to the middle of September.
Nepal is known for its cultural and ethnical diversity. The population consists of over 40 different races and tribes, being the two major groups the Tibeto-Burmans, in the north part of the country and the Indo-Aryans in the south.
