Location and borders:

Argentina is located in the south of South America and is bordered on the north by Bolivia and Paraguay; by Brazil and Uruguay on the northeast and by Chile on the west.

Together with Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and south of Brazil it constitutes the "Cono Sur" and is the second biggest state in South America.

Argentina has an extension of 2.766.890 km²

Administrative divisions:

The four regions of Argentina have a total of 23 provinces, excepting Buenos Aires:

Northern region (Región del Norte Grande Argentino): Catamarca, Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa, Jujuy, Misiones, Tucumán, Salta and Santiago del Estero.

Region of Nuevo Cuyo: (Región del Nuevo Cuyo): La Rioja, Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis.

Patagonic region (Región Patagónica): Chubut, La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego.

Central region (Región Centro): Córdoba, Entre Ríos and Santa Fé.
