With exception of Ecuador and Chile, Brazil shares borders with all South American countries.
Brazil borders on the north Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and the French Guiana; on the west Peru and Bolivia; on the south Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay; and to on the east the Atlantic Ocean.
Brazil has an extension of 8.514.215 km2
The capital of Brazil is Brasilia.
The five regions of Brazil that comprise the federation are:
North Region: Acre, Amazonas, Roraima, Rondônia, Pará, Amapá and Tocantins.
Northeast: Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe and Bahia.
Central-West Region: Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Federal District Brasilia.
Southeast Region: Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Río de Janeiro and São Paulo.
South Region: Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
